A harder roller than most, with raised pyramid nodules instead of a flat surface. They press into a knot the way a thumb would, rather than spreading the pressure across the whole muscle.

Two sizes. 31 x 10 cm fits in a bag and reaches calves, arms and feet. 45 x 14 cm is long enough to lie across for the whole upper back.
High-density EVA — it does not go soft after a few months like cheap foam.
Hollow core, so it takes bodyweight without deforming.

Which of our two rollers? This is the aggressive one. If you are new to rolling, our standard Foam Roller has a gentler ridged surface and is the better place to start — this one will feel like too much in the first week.

45 cm lies across the whole upper back. 31 cm fits a gym bag and suits calves, arms and feet. Buy for where you will actually use it, not for the bigger number.
Still firm in a year
High-density EVA over a hollow core. Cheap foam goes soft under bodyweight after a few months and quietly stops working, which is the usual reason a roller ends up in a cupboard.

Which size should I get?

45 x 14 cm if it will mostly live at home — it is long enough to lie across for the whole upper back. 31 x 10 cm if you want it in a gym bag, or mainly for calves, arms and feet.

How is this different from your other foam roller?

This one has raised pyramid nodules and digs in much harder. The standard Foam Roller has a flatter ridged surface. If you have never rolled before, start with that one — this will feel like too much.

Can I roll my lower back on it?

Avoid the lower spine, especially with a roller this firm. Upper back, glutes, quads, calves and IT band are the useful targets. For either side of the lower spine, use our Peanut Massage Roller instead.

Should it hurt this much?

Uncomfortable on a tight muscle is normal; sharp pain is not. Take weight off with your hands until it eases. It stops being brutal after a week or two of regular use.
